Throughout this assignment I learnt to use the wikispaces page. It was a very difficult process but I learnt the basics which made my attitude towards this assignment a bit more positive because I wasn’t stressing about how to use the tools. I also gained a bit of knowledge about other religions which was a good thing because if we didn’t have to do this assignment I most likely wouldn’t have taken the time out to learn about them. Also I feel as though I’ve learnt a bit more about myself and that I now have a better sense of belonging and understanding to my own religion.

My religion is Catholic-Christian. This is because i was born into a Catholic home but a few years ago my mum converted to Chrisitan and i've adapted to the Chrisitan lifestyle although, I myself haven't converted. this topic has helped me gain a better understanding of my religion. allowing me to find a sense of belonging and spiritual understanding. before this project i believe i wasn't as committed to my religion as i am now. also now i find myself understanding other religions better and paying no attention to stereotypes caused due to the media. I find myself more open and accepting which makes me feel better as a person.

Overall the entire wikispaces assignment was a frustration. Although I tried not to approach this assignment negatively, at times I found it difficult not to. The criteria was changing nearly every lesson which confused me because I didn't know if what I was doing was necessary or a waste of time. I had never used wikispaces before or even heard of it so I found it very difficult to navigate and access the pages. At times we lost work and didn't know why, but eventually we found it. My achievements would have to be that I’ve learnt how to use this webpage and have a good understanding of how to use it now, although I still have plenty to learn about it. Also this assignment helped me to gain a sense of a belonging and an understanding of other religions.

On Wednesday the 29th of July, Killester College Students of year ten made there way to the school small hall after lunch. We were to have a man of Aboriginal heritage come and talk about us about he’s culture and religion. After some waiting and teachers stalling us, he arrived and made a funny entrance. It was as though he was in he’s own thoughts, he apologised for he’s late arrival and started off with turning off he’s phone. Then one of our fellow students made a rude remark saying “he has a phone?” (Referring to Boori), of course everyone could here. Boori looked up saying “yes & I also have a dog” and from then on, everyone showed a lot of respect and listened close to everything he had to say. Although I didn't actually hear much mentioned about religion I enjoyed his talk and couldn't stop laughing. Boori told us about he's childhood and the challenges he faced along with his family, although they weren't very well off what they had was just enough to survive on and he was thankful to have grown up they way he did. He said this to us because he was trying to teach us to not take everything in life for granted and to value the small amount of things someone can have, just like he did growing up. He was a very fast talker but it was a good thing because this meant everyone had to pay close attention to what he had to say. Boori spoke of he’s fathers tribe and also he’s mothers explaining to us the different values and lifestyles they had. He also spoke of the stolen generation and aboriginal beliefs and creation stories. Then he spoke about he’s achievements like writing books and he showed us a couple of them that had already been published and then he spoke of he’s future goals in life. Throughout Boori’s talk I could not stay still, he was a complete comedian, he told us of he’s struggles but then instead of making everyone feel down about it, he had a way of turning everything around positively showing that he was a very optimistic person and I admired this about him. I could not stop laughing from the minute he walked in until he walked out and I would love to have Boori come back to Killester to talk to us girls some more; it was a very enjoyable experience.

What have I learnt?
